Flexible photovoltaic mounting systems are support structures based on prestressed cable-net technology. At their core, high-strength steel strands or cables replace traditional rigid steel beams, relying on tensile forces rather than pure stiffness for load-bearing. This design is particularly well-suited for large-span applications, complex terrains, and “PV-plus” integrated scenarios.
Key Technical Points
Tension control: Once tensioning is complete, the system must be locked; temperature and seasonal variations require re-inspection. Wind-induced vibration is the primary risk associated with flexible support structures and necessitates modal analysis and vibration-control design.
Corrosion resistance: For coastal projects, hot-dip galvanizing combined with a protective coating is preferred, or stainless steel/aluminum alloy components should be used.
Wind Load: Design wind-resistant cables and restraints in accordance with local wind-pressure standards to prevent cable-net instability or component damage under extreme wind speeds.
Component installation: The fixture must provide flexible contact to prevent hidden cracks in the components; during layout, minimize shading and shadow obstruction.
