Adjustable photovoltaic mounting systems—also known as tilt-adjustable or fixed-adjustable mounts—are a type of PV support structure that falls between conventional fixed mounts and fully automated tracking systems. At their core, these systems use manual or electric actuators to periodically adjust the tilt angle of the PV modules (typically 2–4 times per year, based on seasonal changes) in order to capture more solar radiation, increase power generation, and strike an optimal balance between cost and performance.
Key Technical Points
Angle range: typically ±15° to ±30°, depending on the local latitude and the solar altitude angle at the winter or summer solstice.
Wind Resistance and Locking: After adjustment, the mechanism must be mechanically locked; adjustments are strictly prohibited when wind speed exceeds 20–25 m/s.
Material: Carbon steel (hot-dip galvanized) for corrosion resistance; coastal applications prioritize aluminum alloy/stainless steel.
